In a recent report published by Instagram blogger Gistloverblog, the actress was accused of maltreating her late best friend's children. Alao, who is based in Canada, was allegedly accused by two anonymous sources.
According to a chat shared by Gistloverblog, the sources claimed that the actress was always showing fake love with Abimbola's son on Instagram. They claimed that Alao uses the children as her errand boy and girl while her own child is pampered. One source even claimed that the late actress' son had reported her to the Canadian government once.
Alao reacted to the claims hours after it broke with a video on Instagram, she was seen crying and cursing the people sharing false allegations about her and how she takes care of her late best friend's children. 
Her friend and colleague Iyabo Ojo also took to her Instagram live to call out the Instagram blogger for publishing lies about Alao. She said she spent ten days in Canada with Alao and she saw how she took care of the children.

Thousands of applicants set to miss 2020 UTME in 11 states - JAMB warns.



Thousands of UTME applicants may miss their examination, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said - The examination body said the applicants might be missing their 2020 UTME due to suspension of 38 Computer Base Test centre across 11 states - JAMB said operators of illegal centres have been handed over to the Police for prosecution The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released a list of suspended Computer Based Test centres ahead of the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Premium Times reports that an official of the examination body has said that thousands of candidates who are registered in 38 centres across the country may miss writing their UTME. The official said the centres were suspended from conducting the UTME because the operators defaulted by disobeying the rules governing the registration of candidates as provided by the examination board. 

Also reacting to the situation, the JAMB registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, said the board has handed over 38 CBT operators to the police for further investigation.
Oloyede said these centres' operators illegally moved their registration facilities outside their previously allocated locations. He also said JAMB gathered that the operators also granted third-party access to cybercafes and business centres with a Virtual Private Network(VPN) access which was issued to each registered CBT centres. According to the body, the affected states are Akwa-Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Delta, Katsina, Kwara, Lagos, Nassarawa, Ondo, Oyo, Rivers states. The 2020 UTME registration started on Monday, January 13 and will end on Monday, February 17, while the mock registration, which started on January 13 will end on Saturday, February 1, 2020 Below is a list of the suspended CBT centres: Akwa Ibom:

The Kaduna State Police Command, said on Wednesday that it had arrested a pastor who allegedly staged his own kidnap and demanded N5 million ransom from his family. A statement by the Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo said the pastor, James Clement and his accomplice, George Otokpa, were arrested by operatives of the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit. According to the statement, the fake kidnap was stage-managed on Jan. 27. The 39-year-old pastor who lives in Nasarawa Tirkaniya area of Kaduna, allegedly conspired with Otokpa, who resides at No. 23 Aleri Water by Sarki Street, Kudandan, to commit the offence. It said that, Clement “demanded the payment of Five Million Naira as ransom from his own family through text messages using the second suspect as the negotiator.” 

The statement said two members of the pastor’s family reported his kidnap, and the police team was able to track him at his hide-out and arrested him together with his accomplice.

She survived the accident with some injuries and has been unable to use her legs like she used to before the accident

According to Lauretta, a man stood by her during the sad time and he still chose to marry her. She said they tied the knot on Saturday, December 7.

Lauretta, who now uses crutches, walked down the aisle on her big day looking brave and beautiful. The new wife thanked God for always being there for her. She also thanked him for sending her husband her way. She explained that she once thought that she had no hope after the accident but God came through for her. 

She further thanked God for saving her on the day of the accident. She said last December was one to remember because she got married and celebrated her birthday with her husband, Victor Nwaubani. Lauretta prayed that their journey together would be blessed and she prayed that single ladies would be blessed with their dream husbands.

- A Canadian woman identified as Colleen Santos-Amalu, has taken to social media to call out the Nigerian Police Force - In the series of videos made, she stated that her husband who is Nigerian, was recently arrested and beaten by the police - According to her, the officers arrested him because of his haircut and labeled him a cultist It is no news that the rate of police brutality against innocent citizens remains a fundamental problem in Nigeria and as it appears, yet another person has taken to social media to cry out over the issue. Identified as Colleen Santos-Amalu, the lady who hails from Canada but is married to a Nigerian man, recently took to her Instagram page to call out the Nigerian Police, after her husband got arrested for his haircut and labeled a cultist. In the series of videos, she revealed that he was taken to an abandoned police station where he was beaten and his life, threatened. Colleen who stated that she is currently not in the country, vows to get justice for the wrong done on her husband, whom she described as a kind man. 

She wrote: 'This will NOT be the last I speak about this, this will not be all that I do. Mark my words @nigerianpolice @nigeriapoliceforce , I will be in contact, and you will be so SORRY you even laid a hand on my husband. This happened in cele, at the abandoned police station just across the bridge.. He was put into a white van, with officers who wore black jackets with write ups saying “anti cultism”. "NO names, NO badges.NO ID. There was about 15 other men in this truck before they had thrown my husband into the back. Men that were beaten and begging for their lives. When he got there, he saw about 40 other men, who were there before him, that they picked up randomly on the sides of the roads. These men were obviously beaten, and not being taken care of, and treated worse then animals. When my husband tried to make a phone call out to his brother, who is a lawyer, the officers threatened to kill him, and smashed the cell phone in use, and beat him and his cell mate.
The cells had feces, urine and rats roaming around. The officers said that they would kill him, and label him as a kidnapped, or highway robber! These other men, faceless men, who may not have funds, family, or the means to save themselves against these dangerous people the Nigerians call “the police”. My husband now, who can barely walk, was LUCKY compared to some of these other victims, but he is physically and mentally struggling. This is a huge danger, and a huge step back in the world! Nigeria you need to be holding these men accountable, and holding your country accountable for the danger you are putting your people in! Many people died, and NO-ONE is speaking to get the justice, so here I AM NIGERIA, infront if anyone who will listen, infront of the LORD, HERE I Am. A change will be made if it’s the last thing I do! 

Meanwhile, one Justice Obasi was assaulted by three police officers in Enugu after refusing to unlock his mobile phone as ordered. Footage of the ugly incident was shared on Twitter where Obasi was seen being hit severally by the police officers.

A Nigerian woman and her son have been arrested for internet scam of about N29.9m in Lagos - The mother identified as Alaba Kareem Adeyeri and her son, Damilola Ahmed Adeyeri were tried before a Lagos court - The mother and son were convicted on a four-count charge of conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretense While many parents often strive to raise honest and disciplined children who would carry on the legacy, it appears there are some who let greed and dishonesty cloud their sense of judgement. Case in point being a Nigerian mother identified as Alaba Kareem Adeyeri and her internet fraudster son, Damilola Ahmed Adeyeri who were recently arrested and tried for scamming an American company of $82, 570 which is about N29.9 million. Their arrest came following a petition by the Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI) against Damilola and others who are currently at large, on an alleged case of conspiracy, obtaining under false pretense, money laundering and other computer-related fraud.

According to PM new, the woman and her son were sentenced them to three years each in a correctional centre.The judge, Justice Aneke, found them guilty on all counts. But the sentences for each count would run concurrently. 

The court further ordered that all the properties and monies recovered from the convicts be forfeited to the Federal Government and upon applications by the victims, restitution be made to them. Idi Musa, an investigator with the EFCC, while being led in evidence narrated to the court that sometime in April 2019, that the Commission received a petition from the FBI, alleging that the official email address of American Cranes Manufacturing company was hacked and as a result the sum of N29.9 million. was stolen by the fraudsters. 
Idi revealed that Damilola was arrested on September 6, 2019. His mother however, was nabbed when she went to withdraw money from the bank after his arrest. Further reports showed that she had bought properties in choice areas in Lagos, the name of her son with the money made from the fraud.

Media personality Daddy Freeze has reacted to a video of clergywoman Funke Felix-Adejumo - Freeze in a post shared on Instagram called out the religious leader for stopping a live church service coverage after requesting congregants to sow seeds - Several followers flooded the comment section of the OAP with mixed reactions Nigerian media personality Daddy Freeze of Cool FM has gained a widespread reputation for himself when it comes to criticizing religious leaders and their teaching, especially when it comes to the matter of paying tithes and sowing seeds. Maryam Sanda sentenced to death for killing husband

The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Monday, convicted and sentenced Maryam Sanda to death by hanging for killing  her husband, Bilyaminu Bello.,Delivering judgment, Justice Yusuf Halilu  said  “every available evidence”  had proved that  Maryam  “fatally” stabbed her husband to death in Abuja on November 19, 2017.

  Justice  Halilu said, “The concept of justice is tripled in nature, justice to the deceased, Bilyaminu, whose life was cut short in a brutal manner and whose innocent blood cries to high heavens for vengeance, justice to the perpetrators of the crime, who cannot be denied the benefit of the procedure ordained by God in the Garden of Eden that is fair hearing or fair trial, justice to  society whose membership has been depleted by one.

“I am left in no doubt that the defendant has not just failed but woefully failed to explain the death of the deceased bearing in mind her discredited colourfully dressed evidence.“I am more than convinced that the defendant fatally stabbed the deceased with the same knife she threatened him with which she has also mentioned in her statement to the police with the full knowledge was not just probable or certain.

 “When I come to terms with the fact that the person involved here is the accused person’s lawfully married husband and who has a baby with him at the time of his gruesome murder.

 “This is not just sad and unfortunate but indeed wicked. While I am in sympathy with the position of the accused person, a young mother, two children, whose father by her inhuman action sent him to an early grave, my sentiment will not go far to free the accused person from the long arm of the law. After all, it is indeed in law that sentiment has no place in judicial process, particularly when the sentiment is against the law.

“Clearly, with every available evidence before me, I have come to the irresistible conclusion that you, Maryam Sanda,  are  guilty of the murder of Bilyaminu, your husband, who you indeed killed in cold blood. You are hereby convicted for the murder of Bilyaminu as charged.

“In view of the fact that you were the only one last seen with him and now that your story of ‘sisha’ bottle has been discredited beyond doubt that same was broken after the death of Bilyaminu, I ask you both questions in view of the evidence of PW1, PW2, PW3, PW4 and exhibit A,B,C and G, which are all unanimous on the injuries inflicted on the deceased. And the fact that you threatened to cut the private parts of the deceased severally.”

The police  on November 24, 2017 arraigned Maryam  alongside her mother (Maimuna Aliyu), brother (Aliyu Sanda)  and their house help (Sadiya Aminu) on two counts of culpable homicide and an ancillary offence.

Maryam was a  nursing mother and  also three-month pregnant  when  she was arraigned.

She was delivered of her second baby girl during  her two years and two months’ trial.

 The prosecution in the first count accused Maryam of stabbing her husband.

 The incident was said to have occurred in the couple’s apartment at 4 Pakali Close, Wuse 2 Abuja  about 3.50am on November 19, 2017.

 The three others were accused of  causing the “evidence of the offence to disappear” by “cleaning the blood from the scene of crime with the intention” of shielding her “from legal punishment.”

 On April 4, 2019, Justice Halilu in a ruling on the no-case submission filed by the four defendants after the prosecution closed its case with six witnesses discharged the three other defendants but ruled that Maryam had a case to answer.

Maryam, who  had been attending the trial since November 2017 having her face covered with a veil, called one other person with herself as the two defence witnesses.

Justice Halilu dismissed her claim that her husband fell on the shards of a broken ‘sisha’ bottle during a fight between them.

Maryam had claimed that a fight broke out between them after she saw the picture of a nude girl on her husband’s phone.

The judge noted from the testimonies of Ibrahim Mohammed, the first prosecution witness and the friend of the deceased and Usman Aliyu, the fourth prosecution witness, who were both in the house before and after  police visited there, the ‘sisha bottle’ was only broken after the death of  her husband.

The first prosecution witness had earlier witnessed the scuffle between the couple and had to retrieve a knife from Maryam three or  four times, thus  preventing her from carrying out her threat to cut off her husband’s private parts.

“I am fortified by the unshaken evidence of PW1 and PW4 to conclude that the ‘almighty sisha’ bottle was broken and the living room was scattered to serve as a smokescreen, all carefully stage-managed to cover Maryam Sanda’s action,” the judge ruled.

He held that although there was no eyewitness to the incident and there was no confessional statement by anyone admitting to the commission of the crime, there was enough circumstantial evidence pointing to the guilt of Maryam as the killer of her husband.

The judge ruled, “From the totality of the evidence of the defendant, who was the last person to be seen with the deceased when he sustained the injuries that eventually led to his death, coupled with the surrounding circumstances that led to the death of the deceased, evidence of PW1, PW2, DW1 And DW2 (the accused) as reproduced in the body of this judgment, it is now very irresistibly clear that the defendant, fatally injured the deceased by stabbing him in the heart region, thigh, back, using  the same knife which she had threatened to use on the deceased with the premeditated intention of killing him.”

Maryam, who appeared in court wearing a black flowing dress with a black veil covering her face, ran out of the courtroom through the door next to the dock  weeping profusely when Justice  Halilu pronounced her guilty.

Her mother and other relatives  broke down in tears.

In the middle of the confusion the defence lawyer, Regina Okoti-Eboh, attempted to make a plea for allocutus (plea for mercy), but the judge said he needed to rise for the courtroom to restore to calm.

Her father was also pacing up and down the courtroom and intermittently seen with her daughter trying to pacify her.

Justice Halilu  said the offence for which the convict was convicted being one based on Section 221 of the Penal Code, there would be no room for allocutus.

 “It has been said that thou, shall not kill. Whoever kills in cold blood shall die in cold blood.

 “Maryam Sanda should reap what she has sown. It is blood for blood.

 “She is hereby sentenced to death by hanging until she dies,” the judge said.
