WhatsApp will stop working on millions of people's phones from February 1

Metro reports that any iPhone running software older than iOS 7 will no longer be supported and any Android device with version 2.3.7 installed will also be affected. 

recalling that the Facebook-owned app stopped working on a number of devices on December 31, 2019. According to WhatsApp, the decision was made because it no longer actively develops updates for the operating systems that will be affected. 
WhatsApp will be forcing millions of people to change their phones once the decision has been made, as the instant messaging app is used by many due to its user-friendly features.

WhatsApp's 1.5 billion users are anxiously waiting for the feature to be added to the instant messaging application. The dark mode feature changes the app’s colour scheme, toning down the brightness and replacing the white background with black. In other news, Nigerians are making waves in virtually every field. Simple Azenabor, a Nigerian based in Japan and an app developer, created a Nigerian chat app called SoftTalk. According to Azenabor, who is also the founder of Prime Time Telecoms, a communication company in Japan, the chatting app will also allow users to send instant messages, videos, audios and files.
The app was said to have launched on August 29, 2018, at a grand ceremony at EKO Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The messaging app works like the popular WhatsApp where signing up requires users’ mobile number and does not demand much data to start running. 

Azenabor told the media that what makes the app different from other messaging apps is that it is targeted at giving users a different experience than what is presently obtainable.
