Gianna Bryant gets honoured by the University of Connecticut basketball team - The died alongside his father and seven others after their helicopter crashed on Sunday - Gianna got a jersey number two from her dream school University of Connecticut women's basketball team has paid a tribute to Gianna Bryant - daughter of NBA legend Kobe after her untimely death. The 13-year-old rising star was among the nine people that died in the ill-fated helicopter crash which occurred on Sunday. Kobe revealed in 2018 that her daughter had dreamt of playing for the UConn after NBA Hall of Famer Reggie Miller persuaded the 41-year-old to send his daughter to the University of California. 
After the incident, the University thought it wise to honour the youngster with their team's number two jersey. They shared a post on their official Twitter handle with the caption: "Mambacita is forever a Husky," According to Rappler.com, Gianna, has developed a special relationship with Chicago Sky forward Gabby Williams.
