Pastor Alfa Babatunde has filed a N100m suit at the Federal High Court in Akure, the Ondo capital, against the State Security Service (SSS) for illegal detention and infringement of his fundamental human rights. The pastor, who was reported to have been detained by the SSS after the incident, sought the order of the court to release him from the custody of the security agency. Joined as respondents in the suit are: the State Security Service, director-general State Security Service, Emmanuel Anaobi, Isaac Babalola and Remi Oluwalogbon. In addition to asking the court to direct the secret police to release him unconditionally from detention, the cleric also urged the court to retrain the SSS from further acts of arrest. Pastor Babatunde is also claiming the sum of N100 million as aggravated damages against the secret police for the violation of his fundamental rights ifeomacanice.blospot.com had reported that Wednesday, December 18, was not a very lovely day for some persons in Ondo as some angry youths razed the Sotitobire Miracle Church in Akure, the state capital. 

The youths burned down the church following claims of an alleged discovery of the remains of a year-old boy, who was recently reported missing inside the church..
