Police have begun investigation on a video that showed a policemen holding POS - The unidentified policeman was demanding ATM card from a member of general public - NPF, however, said that it would ascertain the authenticity of the video and the policeman involved Following a viral video that showed a person in police uniform with Point of Sale (POS) machine and demanded Automated Teller Machine (ATM) from a member of the public, the Nigerian Police Force said it has commenced an investigation to ascertain the authenticity of the clip. Legit.ng reports that the police disclosed this in a statement released on Friday, January 10, on its official Twitter handle, @PoliceNG. In the statement, it was stated that the inspector general of police condemned all acts of corruption and committed to ensuring any officer found guilty face the wrath of the law.

he statement read: “The Nigerian police force has commenced investigations to unravel the authenticity of the video, location of incident and identity of persons captured in the viral video where some persons in Police uniform were captured, allegedly with POS machine and demanding ATM card from a member of the public.” 

“The IGP condemns all acts of corruption by public servants, particularly police officers and is committed to bringing to book any officer found wanting in this regard.”
