PDP cautions Buhari, says president should withdraw his alleged third
term ambition.
The PDP has once again asked President Buhari to withdraw his alleged third term ambition - The opposition party said the president should focus on delivering good governance to Nigerians for the rest of his second term - Recall that President Buhari has repeatedly said he is not interested in the third term as it is against the Nigerian constitution The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has again asked President Muhammadu Buhari to shelve his alleged third term ambition. Daily Trust reports that the lead opposition party said President Buhari should focus on delivering good governance to Nigerians for the rest of his second term which will end in 2023.
ifeomacanice.blogspot.com gathered that the PDP in a statement released on Wednesday, January 8, by its spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, berated the president for alleged repeated reference to a presidential successor in 2023.

“Our party, standing with millions of Nigerians, counsels the Buhari Presidency to bury its confessed interests in the 2023 Presidency and desist from making unsolicited allusions and references to a successor, as failed leaders can only bequeath failure on a people. The party asked President Buhari to withdraw an alleged remark about "handing Nigeria over" which it claimed the president made in response to Rev. Tunde Bakare’s comment on the 2023 Presidency. According to the PDP, the presidency's alleged statement that Buhari has an interest in who succeeds him in 2023 stands against the constitutional rights of Nigerians to freely elect a president of their choice.
The special adviser to President Buhari on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, said that Nigeria's next leader will not be handpicked or merely nominated by his principal.
Adesina said that being a man of integrity, the president will not be swayed with money or whatever thing by anybody.
